All classes are taught in the Iyengar yoga tradition, with an emphasis on alignment and structure using props such as blocks, straps and bolsters when needed. These props allow people with limited flexibility and/or experience to get the most out of the various postures.
Patrick, Eleneth, Megan and Kate have studied with various Senior Australian and overseas teachers. They have also studied at the Iyengar Institute in Pune India. It takes a minimum of three years to become an Iyengar yoga teacher.
All props including mats are available at the studio. (You are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer). It is preferable to book ahead and ring the mob number of the teacher whose class you would like to attend since numbers in each class are limited to 11 students. The starting point for students with no prior experience. Classes focus on introducing and consolidating yoga foundations. Students are guided through a range of standing, twisting and seated poses. Beginners classes are on Monday and Wednesday evenings, contact Susan or Eleneth.
For people with some yoga experience. Ideal next step for those that have completed 3-6 months of beginners classes. Talk to your teacher if you are not sure. Students continue to consolidate the basics and are introduced to working with inversions and backbends.
For more experienced students - attending more than once a week. Familiarity and regular practice of inversions is essential at this level. Students work with more challenging poses.
